Galaxy Grand Duos has an essence of S III and note II, thanks to the big screen. The device is quite sturdy at 162g and some might find it difficult to manage such bulky handset. The back has a chequered pattern that covers up for the fingerprints.
The front is dominated by the 5" screen with a thin bezel on both sides. Above the screen, you'll find a 2MP camera along with the earpiece and the sensors, whereas the bottom features a home button (physical) with capacitive menu & Back button on either side. The back is removable and there's a 8MP main camera with LED flash and a loudspeaker just next to it.
The top features a 3.5mm audio jack whereas the bottom features the microUSB port. Power button is placed on the right side and volume rocker is on the left. So, there are ports/buttons on each side of the device.

This feature runs on the front facing camera that detects your eyes when you are looking at the screen and thus keeps it running. There are other apps such as S Memo, S Planner, S Suggest etc. that makes enhance the user experience.
The device is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Broadcom BCM28155 processor based on ARM Cortex-A9 and VideoCore 4 GPU. There's 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. You also have a microSD slot to expand the memory up to 64GB. Overall, the device runs quiet smoothly without lags.
There's a 2100mAh Li-ion2 battery which can last up to half a day on a single charge.
